Isabella

Isabella-Duane Richard Woodson was born May 25, 1934 in Crescent to Earnest Elmer “Red” and Eleanor Cecilia “Peggy” Bingo Woodson and passed from this life at his home on June 29, 2018.

Duane spent his formative years working alongside his father building up their farm and dairy near Isabella.  Duane graduated from Okeene High School in 1952.  Then he enlisted in the U. S. Army and spent time overseas stationed in Europe.  Upon his return, he enrolled in Oklahoma State University and studied engineering.  In 1957, he married his life-long love, Wilma Joyce DeLay.  They celebrated the birth of their first child, Richard Neil, in December 1958.  Duane continued working on his degree at Oklahoma City University.  Early in his career, Duane worked as an engineer in California for many years before returning to Okeene to help his father with his dairy farm.  In November 1973, their second child was born, Katherine Cecilia.  Duane continued working as an engineer in the oil and gas field until he retired from Transok.  He was a kind, compassionate and loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.

Duane is survived by his wife, Wilma; son, Richard; daughter, Katie; sister, Mavis Nickels; grandson, Marshall Woodson; granddaughter, Christina Michelle Chestnut and seven great-grandchildren.
