Evelyn was born on August 15, 1919 to Louie and Emma Fenster near Arcadia, Nebraska and passed from this life on August 31, 2018 in Medford.   Evelyn attended Hayes Creek Elementary and graduated from Arcadia High School.  She had great memories of growing up in a Christian home, where Bible reading and prayer was normal.  Evelyn received Christ in 1927 and began serving the Lord at the early age of eight years old. She married Thomas “Tom” Edison White on June 1, 1936 at Smith Center, Kansas, and they enjoyed 70 years together.  She truly treasured her marriage and the birth of each child.  They lived in Nebraska, California, Louisiana, Missouri and Texas before moving to Medford in 2004.  Evelyn was very active in church including teaching Sunday School for 50 plus years, playing the organ and piano for churches and weddings, being a youth leader and a choir director.  She was currently a member of First Christian Church in Medford.    Evelyn enjoyed not only church music, but many styles of music.   She also loved gardening, crocheting and quilting.  Evelyn also did volunteer work at hospitals.  She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents, Louis and Emma Fenster; four brothers; two sisters; her son, Larry; daughters-in-law, Dorothy and Judy; son-in-law, Don Fitch; granddaughter, Ranae Fitch; granddaughter-in-law, Laurie White and grandson, Geoffrey Reeves.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Fitch; two sons, Darryl White and wife, Carol and Galan White and wife, Patti; eighteen grandchildren; fifty-four great grandchildren; forty-one great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; two special sisters-in-law, Lula Lybarger and Lola Wilmot; many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Medford First Christian Church or Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home.
