Charlotte Bierig

January 12, 1931 — January 14, 2023

Okeene

Charlotte Louise Anne Bierig, daughter of Anna Freida Amelia Goehring and Fred Lamle Senior, was born in Okeene, Oklahoma January 12, 1931 on the Lamle family homestead.  Charlotte passed away January 14, 2023 at the age of 92 years and 2 days with her children at her side.  Charlotte’s father immigrated from Germany in 1883 and homesteaded in the Cheyenne Arapahoe run.  Her mother immigrated from Germany in 1920.

Charlotte attended Okeene Public schools and graduated in 1950, where she was active in basketball, track and field, and band in which she was drum major and twirler.

One of Charlotte’s fondest memories was helping on the Lamle family farm.  When she would go out with her brothers on the tractor, her brothers would jump off the tractor and leave her to run the tractor on her own to work the field.

Charlotte was the Oklahoma delegate representative for the Flying Farmers of America and represented the state of Oklahoma in the National Convention in Bemidji, Minnesota in 1950.

On December 10, 1950 she married the love of her life, Henry Bierig Jr.  They established their home north of Okeene by Deep Creek for 27 years.  To their marriage, two children were born.  Charlotte was her husband’s “right hand woman” on their farm, where they had a ranch, dairy, and farming operation.  In 1977 Charlotte and her husband built their dream home one mile north of their original homestead.

In addition to their farming, she was involved in the Okeene Community Theater and helped sponsor several High School Spanish trips to Mexico.  She was actively involved in the Okeene Child Study club and church activities.  She was honored as a 50 year member of the Chapter A PEO in Okeene.

One of Charlotte’s most memorable experiences was being able to travel locally, in the United States, and internationally with her mother, her husband and family.

She and Dad enjoyed finding new places to eat with their close friends and family.  They would travel several hours just to experience a new restaurant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bierig Jr; her parents, Anna and Fred Lamle; two brothers,  Edmund Lamle and Alvin  Lamle, and one sister, Grace Wisdom.

She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Reed of Grapevine, Texas and her son Dr. Kirt Bierig and his wife, Cynthia of Okeene, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, Fritz Lamle of Okeene; many nieces and nephews; relatives and friends.
