Herbert Schubert

April 19, 1929 — August 10, 2022

Burlington

Herbert Charles Schubert was born on April 19, 1929 at his home in Burlington, Oklahoma to parents, Edward H. and Clara Hunter Schubert.  He passed away August 10, 2022 at Share Convalescent Home in Alva.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Clara Schubert; brother, Jack, and his wife, Ernale Ruth (Sheddy); infant daughter, Kathy Leanne, and son, Michael Lee; great grandson, Colton Wilson.

Except for the two years his family lived in Greeley, Colorado where he worked for Monfort Feed Yards, Herb lived one mile west of Burlington.  Herb attended Burlington Schools and during his senior year, when his brother, Jack, was drafted, he dropped out of school and fulfilled his dreams of becoming a farmer.  He was a life-long farmer and rancher.  He was an excellent welder and designed and built several farming implements.  Herb and Ernale especially enjoyed their cow calf operation.  Later in life Herb enjoyed a fulfilling hobby of building cedar furniture.  He owned his own "sawmill" and searched to find the perfect trees to build his many unique tables.

Herb is survived by his daughter, Susan (Don) Palmer and her children, Eric Vogel, Matt (Melissa) Vogel, Lindsey Krueger, Michael (Teri) Palmer; his son, Steven Schubert and his children, Stefani (Joel) Ferguson and Seth (Dustin) Schubert; son, Jon (Gayla) Schubert and their children, Audrey (Mike) Widman, Tara (Mason) Morasch and Dustin (Christi) Schubert; daughter, Jill Schubert and her children, Trina Reeves, Anthony Cochran, and Ashley Wilson; great grandchildren, Autumn and Rees Krueger, James and Mercedes Sweatt, Lucianna, Clayton and Archie Vogel , Kenny and Brianna Miller-Vogel, Liam, Luke and Lily Ferguson, Mallory, Kevin and Griffin Schubert, Logan, Macy, Emily, Kylie and Brimley Schubert, Michaela, Allie and Jacob Morasch and Zakiah, Sean, Abigail and Emma Reeves, Adrian and Ethan Cochran, Colby Wilson, and Ava and Evan Widman.

Herb was very proud of living in rural Oklahoma and loved watching the beautiful sunsets from his west window.
